Book Review: The Wolf Queen's Curse by Kaylee Archer

Okay, this was the book I was hoping for after reading Witch of the Wolves.
I enjoyed the first book and really liked the premise, but I wanted more depth from the characters and the story. The Wolf Queen's Curse gave me that.
It's still a fast-paced book, but this time I felt like everything was given the time it needed. We got to dive much deeper into the characters and see a lot more development, which made me much more invested in what was happening.
I also really enjoyed getting to meet new characters and seeing the story move into other packs. Getting to see the different pack dynamics and how they interacted with each other added another interesting layer to the story.
One of my favorite things about this book was the strategy. There was so much thought behind the moves Bishop and Cordelia made, and I really enjoyed watching them think through their decisions. It wasn't just about what was happening in the moment; there was a lot of consideration about what might happen next and how each move could affect things down the road.
And then there's Bishop and Cordelia.
I really liked the way their relationship continued to develop in this book. There was a growing sense of respect and trust between them, and I appreciated that their relationship wasn't rushed into something just because they're the main characters. Their connection felt like it was actually building as they got to know and understand each other.
I also have to mention that ending because WOW. That was a very good ending, and it definitely has me wondering where Kaylee Archer is going to take this story next.
After reading Witch of the Wolves, I was interested enough to continue the series, but after The Wolf Queen's Curse, I'm genuinely looking forward to the next book. This felt like the book I was hoping the first one would be, and I'm excited to see what happens next
.
4 stars for me.
