Book Review: The Faraway Inn by Sarah Beth Durst

There’s something truly magical about returning to a story crafted by Sarah Beth Durst, and The Faraway Inn is no exception. From the very first page, I was completely swept away by the lush, descriptive scenery and immersive atmosphere that Durst is so well known for.
Calisa is an absolute delight to follow—her heart, resilience, and growth make her a character you can’t help but root for. The supporting cast is just as enchanting, each bringing their own charm and depth to the story. Jack’s honesty and kindness shine throughout, while Auntie Zee adds such personality that even she quickly became a favorite.
The world-building is captivating, pulling you into a place that feels both whimsical and deeply meaningful. I found myself flying through the pages, completely absorbed in the unfolding story. And can we talk about the mirror?! Because I’m pretty sure I need one 😜
What stood out most to me was the thread of kindness and acceptance woven throughout the story. It added such a heartfelt layer that made this fantasy feel even more impactful.
With its release on March 31st, this is absolutely a must-grab for fans of Durst, young adult fantasy lovers, and anyone looking for a beautifully written escape into a magical world. I, for one, am already hoping for more.
