A beach scene with a man and woman sitting, a dog running, and a house in the background. Text reads "The Summer Share" by Jenn McKinlay.

The Summer Share is the kind of book you pick up for a light read and end up completely breezing through. With its smooth pacing, lovable characters, and charming setting, it’s an easy win for romance readers looking for something feel-good with a bit of depth.

Hannah and Simon make for a delightful pair. Their chemistry builds at a natural pace, creating a slow-burn romance that feels genuine and engaging. They’re both incredibly easy to root for, which makes their journey all the more enjoyable.

One of the biggest highlights for me was Dude the dog—he absolutely stole the show. His personality added a playful, heartwarming layer that made the story even more fun. Beyond that, the supporting cast and the tight-knit community brought so much life to the book. The setting had that cozy, small-town charm that makes you want to pack your bags and stay awhile.

I also appreciated that the story didn’t shy away from more emotional moments. The conflict, especially involving Simon’s brother, felt realistic and relatable, adding balance to the lighter tone. And while the premise initially felt like it might be a bit far-fetched, it ultimately unfolded in a way that felt believable and satisfying.

Between the North Carolina backdrop, the engaging characters, and the heartfelt story, The Summer Share is a charming romance that delivers both comfort and connection. Make sure you check it out in May!
